Shirley Meek Morgan

Shirley Meek Morgan, 77, of Southaven, Miss., passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, at DeSoto Healthcare in Southaven, Miss.

Shirley was born Sept. 27, 1947, in the Shamrock Community of Pemiscot County, Mo., to the late Robert “Bunk” and Pauline Meek. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Mike Morgan; her daughter Shaunna (Steve) Edmonds; her grandson Zack (Shelby) Edmonds; her great-granddaughter Lily Edmonds; and her sister Bonnye Coppock; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by three siblings, Bob Meek, Denver Meek and Brenda Glass.

Shirley was known by her family and friends as loving and generous. Even in her death, Shirley’s generosity was embodied by her decision to donate her body to education and research with the Medical Education and Research Institute through Genesis in Memphis, Tenn.

A memorial service will be held at a later date with details to follow.
