Tuesday, December 3, 2024

Bobby Louis Yarbrough was born July 7, 1958, to the union of Lillie V. Echols and Willie Marshall Yarbrough, Sr. in Widener.

In 1960 his family moved to Blytheville. Early in life, he confessed to Christ and was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Leo Burton, pastor of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. Bobby graduated from Blytheville High School in May 1976. Soon after, he worked at NIBCO, Inc. as a machine operator for over 20 years where he retired in 2001. Later, he moved to Missouri and re-entered the workforce. For 17 years, he worked as a machine operator for Harmon Industries Electric until he retired again.

Everyone whoever had the privilege of knowing Bobby knows he was loving, kind, helpful, neat, hardworking, diligent and a good painter. When he was given a task to perform, he never stopped until the work was finished, and he made sure that it was done right the first time.

Bobby departed this life on Nov. 24, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and five siblings, Emma, Willie Jr., Carolyn, Linda and William.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Kenyhatta Yarbrough, and son, Devonte “DJ” Yarbrough; four grandchildren, Kendra Yarbrough, Kavion Hayward, Khyia Hayward and Prince Yarbrough; five siblings, Lestell (Alonzo) Bonds, Annette Strong, Donnie Yarbrough, Sr., Rickey Yarbrough and Kimberly Nzeogwuyah; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at New Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 534 Maple St., Blytheville, with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. Internment will be at Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
