Elmer Charles Green
Elmer Charles Green, 80, of Blytheville, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, at his home.
Born in Blytheville to Hubert and Clarice Kenchen Green, Elmer was retired from Heekin-Ball Canning Company. He was a member of Ruddle Road Church of God. Elmer loved to sing Southern Gospel music and sang with the Good News singers. He also could play several instruments and enjoyed playing and singing in various churches, nursing homes, and the Mississippi County Senior Citizens Center. He was a volunteer worker at Blytheville Food Pantry.
In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by seven brothers, Billy Thomas, Arlie, Denny, Ronnie, Tommy, Roy and Leon.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Hulsey Green of the home; three children, Scott Green and wife Hope of Senatobia, Miss., Stephen Green and Stephanie Moody of Boone, N.C., and Rusty Green and wife Juliana of Fairhope, Ala.; two brothers, Bobby Green and Timmy Green, both of Blytheville; three sisters, Barbara Gray of Branson, Mo., Wilma Byrd of Pocahontas, and Tammy Quach of Gosnell; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Pankey officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery. The family received friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
