Wayne Bennie Stone
Wayne Bennie Stone, 78, of Conway, former longtime Manila resident, passed from this life Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. Son of the late Floyd Bennie and Loretta Starkey Stone, he was born and raised in Manila and was a graduate of Manila High School. He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 2009 and was a member of the American Legion. Bennie loved hunting, fishing, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Lee Stone, and a sister, Joan Farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joyce Stone, of the home; two daughters, Angela Lehman (Casey) of Greenbrier and Michelle Justice (Andy) of Russellville; three brothers, Miles Stone (Annie), Lester Stone (Becky), and Charles Galloway all of Manila; four grandchildren, Sydney Lehman, Ethan Justice, Adeline Justice and Evelyn Justice. Bennie also leaves his stepmother, Shirley Stone, of Manila.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Floyd Winstead officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Manila Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Lehman, Andy Justice, Brandon Stone, Floyd Farmer, Christopher Stone and Ricky Jackson.
