Jean Overton

Jean Overton, 89, of Blytheville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024 at her home.

Born in Arkadelphia, Ala., to Luther and Jessie Mae Pugh Hyde, she was retired from Milwaukee Tool. Jean was an active member of Lone Oak Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery and taught Vacation Bible School. Jean participated in many church dinners, bringing her specialty, fried okra and chicken strips. She lived for her church and her family. Jean enjoyed being outdoors, working in her yard and flowerbeds.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Overton; one son, Gary Overton; eight brothers; and one sister.

Jean is survived by her children, Regina Ingram and husband Joe of Blytheville, and Billy Overton and wife Terri of Blytheville; five grandchildren, Amy Stanley and husband Brian, Amanda Watkins and husband Darrell, Casey Knight and husband Justin, Courtney Olivares and husband Jose, and Heather Phelps and husband Johnny; great-grandchildren, Hunter Curtis, Sarah Bailey and husband Cody, Payton Curtis, Hannah Stanley, Meredith Stanley, Selene Stanley, Allison Stanley, Lydia Stanley, Daniel Stanley, Jose Olivares, Kyleigh Phelps, and Rhett Phelps.

A special thank you to the nurses with Elite Hospice, Jordan Johnson and Rachel Coatney; Angels Professional Care caregivers, Porchala Jackson and Dana Allwhite; and caregiver, Sharon Choctaw.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell King and Rev. Bryce King officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
