Charles Richard House
Charles Richard House was born Aug. 13, 1956 in Blytheville to John “Marvin” House and Beulah Tillman House. He passed away Oct. 5, 2024 in Batesville at the age of 68.
Charles loved fishing, hunting and grilling. He was the king of dad jokes and loved watching westerns, especially “The Duke”, John Wayne. He was a fan of classic rock music and the Beatles and other favorites were Johnny Cash and George Jones. Charles was a hard worker and was always willing to help others. He had been employed as a farm worker, worked for Lynn Seeds in Cooter, Mo., and had been a truck driver for White River Materials. He had also worked for the Arkansas Highway Department. He was united in marriage to Barbara Faye Brackin House in Hoxie on Sept. 4, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Hubert House, John House, Virgil House and an infant, John House
Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara House of Batesville; three daughters, Charlotte Sellers of New Hamshire, Carrie House of Caruthersville, Mo., Catherine Mosher of Rhode Island; one stepson, Brandon Brackin of Dyersburg, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Shawna Adkins of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Alaina Johnson of Yarbro; seven siblings, Norma Sue Zerbini of California, James “Buddy” House of Hixson, Tenn., Marianna Spann of Benton, Glenda Weinrich of Kelso, Mo., Michael House of Jackson, Mo., Lisa Booth of Harrison and Terry House of Tennessee. He was PawPaw to 11 grandchildren and leaves many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held at Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter, Mo., on Oct. 9 with Rev. Ronnie Riley officiating. Pallbearers were Eric Mosher, Brandon Brackin, Stephen House, Ethan Pennel, John Rice and Lee Middleton.
Powell Funeral Home was in charge of services.
