Johnny Ray Griffen

Johnny Ray Griffen, 65, of Blytheville passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at his home. He was born Feb. 13, 1959, in Elkhart, Ind., to Johnny Griffen and Bobbie Davis Griffen. He was a 1977 graduate of Osceola High School and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.

“John R,” as his friends and family lovingly called him, started working at Nibco after high school graduation and later worked in construction. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and watching Minnesota Vikings football games.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Griffen and Bobbie Davis Griffen.

He is survived by one daughter, Jamie, and Phillip Leonard, of Clarkston, Wash.; two grandchildren, Mason Leonard and Gannon Leonard, of Clarkston, Wash.; one brother, Jimmy Griffen, of Blytheville; one uncle, Tommy, and Linda Davis, of Trumann; and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. at Carney Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Mike Gonzales officiating. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until services began. Condolences may be offered at carneyfuneralhome.com.
