Betty Jo Craig
Betty Jo Craig, 84, of West Memphis, passed away Oct. 13, 2024. She was born Jan. 16, 1940, in Tyronza, to the late Ralph and Marine Phillips.
Betty’s life was marked by her profound love for her family and her passion for golf, which she often described as her source of peace and joy. She was a spirited card player and cherished the time spent with her seven grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Betty is survived by her son, Phillip Boyd Craig, and daughter, Denise Niswonger, both of West Memphis. She also leaves behind three loving sisters, Patricia McGarrity of West Memphis, Kathy Singleton and Debbie Phillips of Tumbling Shoals. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Mitchell Wood (Esther) of Bartlett, Tenn., Kellye Neal and Kerri Neal, both of West Memphis, and her four great-grandchildren, Adelina, Lilly, Penny Wood and Kaydence Washington.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Craig, and sisters, Marolyn Russom and Barbara Bell.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 1-2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Bro. Gary Andrews officiating. Burial was at Crittenden Memorial Park in West Memphis.
Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza assisted the family with the arrangements. Betty Jo Craig will be remembered as a pillar of strength, love and joy by her family.
