Martha Rae Galloway
Martha Ray Galloway, 70, of Leachville, widow of the late Mr. Carroll Galloway, passed from this life Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at her home. Daughter of the late James Chester and Bertha Lorene Barnes Hitchcock, she was born in Marks, Miss., and was raised in Northeast Arkansas. Martha was the owner and operator of The Frontier Cafe. She loved to watch westerns and cook and work in the cafe. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Don Galloway and Larry Allen Galloway, and two brothers, James Hitchcock and Richard Carl Hitchcock.
Survivors include one son, Ricky Galloway of Leachville; one brother, James E. Hitchcock of Florida; three sisters, Mary Betty Vandiver of Manila, Wanda Green of Manila and Brenda Reed Yates of Leachville; one daughter-in-law, Wanda Galloway; one granddaughter, Kristy Church; one grandson, Isaac Matthew Galloway; one great-grandson, Zachary Allen Depreist.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Parsons, Terry McAbee, Terry Wayne McAbee, Timothy Augustine, Tommy Stevens and Mark Stites.
