Charles Hoyt Young

Charles Hoyt Young, 88, of Blytheville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at Manila Healthcare.

Charles was born in Cleveland, Ga. A retired member of the United States Air Force, he continued his service to his country through a dedicated career in civil service. Charles was an honest, hard-working man. After retiring from civil service, Charles was an avid member of the American Legion, the Air Force Association, and an enthusiast of the Blytheville Antique Car Club.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine Young; his mother and stepfather, Allene Young McGuire and George Tom McGuire; a sister, Patricia Hartness; and a stepbrother, Tom McGuire, Jr.

Charles is survived by a daughter, Laverne Herron, and husband Roy of Blytheville; two grandchildren, Amanda Sims, and husband David of Jonesboro, and Alan Herron of Louisville, Ky.; two great-grandchildren, Layne and Dustin Sims; and one sister, Yvonne Rogers of Gainesville, Ga.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at Dogwood Mausoleum with Mr. Billy Holifield officiating. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
