David C. Brackin

David C. Brackin, 81, of Blytheville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024 at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro.

David was born and raised in Half Moon. He was retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #134. David was a humble and God-fearing man and attended Lone Oak Baptist Church. David enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, feeding and watching hummingbirds, and tinkering around his shop and yard.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Neomia Fields Bracken; and one son-in-law and best friend, Chuck Wilder.

David is survived by his children, Tina Wilder of Half Moon, Jason Brackin (Andrea) of Jonesboro, and David L. Brackin (Gloria) of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Molly Brackin of Dell; seven grandchildren, Kennadi Brackin, Sydnie Brackin, Kayla Brackin, Kyle Brackin, C.J. Wilder (Erin), Jennifer Wilder (Cody) and Brent Wilder (Brandy); and seven great-grandchildren, Weston Richardson, Mylee Richardson, Bailee Richardson, Caitlin Wilder, Charlie Wilder, Bentlee Wilder and Lawson Wilder; his first wife, Pat Brackin of Red Banks, Miss.; his best friend, Alvin Gross (Vicky) of Half Moon; and his companion, Patches. He also leaves a host of friends and extended family.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell King officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
