Betty Joan Brock

Betty Joan Brock, 76, of Leachville, passed from this life Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at The NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Daughter of the late Boyd and Frances Patton Atkinson, she was born and raised in Manila and was a graduate of Manila High School. She was a bookkeeper for several area cotton gins including BC Land Company in Leachville, Sandusky Gin in Manila, Producers Cotton Gin in Blytheville, and most recently, Shawnee Village in Joiner where she worked until her retirement in 2014. Betty loved cooking, gardening, and especially sewing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richie Austin; a brother, Jimmy Atkinson; and a sister, Shirley Gardener.

Survivors include one daughter, Alesha Morgan of Manila; one brother, Milton Atkinson of Fort Smith; two sisters, Kaye Atkinson-Gann Westbrook of Manila and Faye Schroeder of Fairfield Bay; eight grandchildren, Whitlee Rolland-McDermott (Joe) of Leachville, Gavin Sullivan (Chandlor) of Burdette, Will Rolland (Sydney) of Monette, Brock Rolland (Ashlyn) of Leachville, Keegan Morgan of Manila, Tripp Morgan of Brookland, Kirbee Morgan of Manila and Kash Morgan of Manila. Betty also leaves 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at the Leachville Cemetery with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.HowardFuneralService.com.
