Irene Moody

Irene Moody, 92, of Lake City, formerly of Gosnell, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024 at her home.

Irene was born in Timbo to Shelby and Lillie Gammill McCook. She was retired from GMAC in Blytheville. Irene was of the Baptist faith and attended Lone Oak Missionary Baptist Church when she lived in Blytheville. She enjoyed to cook, always making sure to feed everyone who visited her home.

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Artie Charles Moody; two sons, Martie Charles Moody and Stanton Clint Moody; and two sisters, Ella Harrison and Maxine Thompson.

Irene is survived by her son, Chad Moody, and wife Valerie of Lake City; one brother, Shelby Austin McCook; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Saturday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. at Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville with Rev. Mitchell King, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-10:30 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
