Linda Corter Young

Linda Corter Young, 76, of Leachville, passed from this life Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Monette, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah Williams Corter and was a 1966 graduate of Monette High School. Linda had been a Leachville resident since 1967 and had worked for the Leachville State Bank and Commonwealth Savings and Loan in Manila before making her career with the U.S. Postal Service. She had served as postmaster for St. Francis and Greenway and eventually retired as postmaster at Dell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Corter and James Corter; and two sisters, Jessie Yates and Anna Slayton.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Edward Young of the home; two sons, David Franklin Young (JoAnna) of Fayetteville and Michael John Young (Salena) of Paragould; four grandchildren, Olivia Faye Young, Olivea Jett, Kailey Jett and Miles Young. She also leaves one great-grandchild, Belle Jett.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Mr. Mike Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
