Millard James “M.J.” Mullins, Jr.
Millard James “M.J.” Mullins, Jr., 85, of Blytheville, went to meet his Heavenly Father Sept. 15, 2024. M.J. was born in Blytheville to the late Millard Mullins and Maggie Mullins Timmons.
He married the late JoAnn Tate Mullins on Nov. 17, 1956. M.J. farmed alongside his stepfather, John Timmons, and brother, Terry Mullins, for 43 years. During this time they farmed the family farm and land in the surrounding Mississippi County. M.J. was a respected member of the farming community. For those who knew him he may be remembered as “Boss Man”, Emmit, or simply M.J. He was well loved by all that knew him and a father figure to many. He was formerly a member of First Baptist Church of Blytheville and later a member of Armorel Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Millard Mullins, Maggie Mullins Timmons and John Timmons; his wife, JoAnn; and son, Dana.
M.J. leaves his son, Mike Mullins, and wife Joyce of Sherwood; two daughters, Tracy Plunkett, and husband Jackie, Leslie Mason, and husband Tommy, both of Blytheville; two brothers, Freddie Mullins, and wife Nancy of Bel Air, Md., and Terry Mullins and wife Gaila of Blytheville; five grandchildren, Matthew Mullins and wife Rachel, Jordan Mullins and wife Crystin, Jeremy Mullins and wife Flo, Lani Eddy and husband Nick, and Josh Plunkett; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be private with cousins Randy and Greg Jumper officiating. The family will receive friends and family Thursday, Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville.
