Joseph “Papa” Anderson Sr.

Joseph “Papa” Anderson Sr., 86, of Blytheville passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024. He was born in Joiner on Feb. 14, 1938, to Classie Lee Pullium and Elijah Anderson Sr.

Joseph was a 1956 graduate of East High School. He was retired and enjoyed bowling, helping others, and most importantly spending time with family in his spare time. Joseph was so kind hearted and would give his last to help someone. He was well known and respected in his community. Everyone knew him on a first name basis. He was hard working and made sure to spread his positive attitude and infectious smile every where he went.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katie Mae Anderson; daughters, Annette Anderson and Monique Rieger Long; son, Joseph Anderson Jr.; brothers, Elijah Anderson Jr. and Thurman Lee Pullium; sisters, Elaine Jones, Diane Pullium and Joanne Pullium Ward.

Joseph is survived by four brothers, Johnny Brown, Cleveland Pullium Jr., Ralph Anderson and Larry Anderson; two sisters, Joanne Anderson and MaryLee Pullium; two daughters, Jessica Mattocks and Cherice Chandler; two sons, Anthony Anderson and Michael Brown; a lot of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Jarrett Funeral Home, 530 Lummerate St., Blytheville.
