The EPC Warriors (0-2) will travel to Manila (0-2) for a non-conference game that will see one team gain their first win of the season. The Warriors are coming off a 56-32 loss to Rivercrest as Manila is coming off a bye week after losing 43-6 to Marked Tree in week two.
Eli Blagg has taken over at quarterback for the Warriors with Tyrus Reel going back to a receiver position. Dee Buchanan and Jacob Gaines have been steady running the ball for EPC. Hunter Thrasher along with Doug and Ashton Reel have been consistent on the offensive line.
Isaac Moore continues to run the Lions’ offense with Matthew Walker being steady at running back for Manila. Kaiden Tipton has produced in the backfield too. Luke Roberts caught a touchdown pass against Marked Tree and added an interception on defense. Kaleb Birmingham and Byron Kisner have been solid blockers for the Lions’ offensive line.
Bari Shephard along with the Reel brothers try to keep the run controlled up front for the Warriors’ defense as Buchanan and Zane Spencer provide support at the linebacker positions. Tyrus Reel, Quincy Perry and Tristan Lard defend the pass and give support against the run.
The Lions look for defensive lineman Birmingham and Kisner along with linebacker Patrick Fisher to control the run game as Walker and Roberts try to stop the passing game. Trey Platz provides help in the secondary too.
Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Lions Stadium.
