Corine Bobo

Corine Bobo passed away Sept. 3, 2024, at her home with her son and caretaker, Michael Bobo, of the home by her bedside holding her hand as she left this earthly plain. She was 83 years old.

Corine Bobo was born Corine Mhoon June 24, 1941, in Crawfordsville to the late Elnora Mhoon and Richard Small. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Junior Lee Bobo (who passed away Aug. 8, 2020, their 64th wedding anniversary); three sons, Lee Roy Bobo Sr., Rickie Bobo and Gregory Fitzgerald Bobo; one grandson, Charles Bobo; two daughters-in-law, Kathy Pollard Bobo and Robin Betts Bobo; her only sibling, Emma Jean Nelms.

She is survived her other son, Ronnie Bobo of Stone Mountain, Ga.; “Cousin” daughter, Lena Mhoon Taylor, daughter, Evelyn (Don) Davis, both of Blytheville; daughter-in-law, Sheila Price Bobo, of Pine Bluff; three “special nieces”, Leona Bobo Tate, Wanda Bobo Washington, both of Gosnell, and Anneta Watts Nunn of Birmingham, Ala.; two “special” nephews, Wendell Bobo and Corey “Munchkin” Nelms, both of Blytheville; nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-children and cousins.

A person of intense faith, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of the Northside Church of Christ. A woman of various talents and abilities, her career outside the home as homemaker included stints at Helig-Meyers, Borg Warner, Randall\Textron, Blytheville Public Schools, Mississippi County nursing homes as a CNA, First National Bank, as well as other positions at some other companies. She enjoyed going to church,listening to and singing gospel music, spending time with her family including her extended family, her love for all of her cousins was unique, especially the young children of her family. Her love for them was unlimited.

Burial was Sept. 5, at Gethsemane Cemetery. Burial services were provided by Wilson Funeral Home. The Rev. Johnnie Williams presided. A memorial will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 1020 South Division, Blytheville. Attendees are asked , if possible, to wear something purple in honor of Mrs. Bobo’s memory. It was her favorite color.
