– A traffic stop for no working tag lights and unconfirmed insurance led to charges of a drug violation on Sept. 1. The driver, Robert Dewayne Kennedy, Jr., was asked if there was marijuana inside the vehicle which he stated there may be a blunt. BPD officer found 8.5 pills identified as Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and one believed to be Adderall inside Kennedy’s wallet. ...

– A traffic stop for no working tag lights and unconfirmed insurance led to charges of a drug violation on Sept. 1. The driver, Robert Dewayne Kennedy, Jr., was asked if there was marijuana inside the vehicle which he stated there may be a blunt. BPD officer found 8.5 pills identified as Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and one believed to be Adderall inside Kennedy’s wallet. He also had $782 in U.S. currency in his pants pocket which was seized. Kennedy was charged with possession with purpose to deliver a controlled substance, scheduled I.

– On Sept. 1, a BPD officer was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at 500 Chickasawba. The driver of the offending vehicle, David Crusz Ramirez, was found to have bloodshot watery eyes, a sway and odor of intoxicants. Following field sobriety tests, Ramirez was transported to the Justice Department for BAC testing which yielded a result of .249. He was transported to MSCO and placed on a 12 hour hold. He was charged with DWI 1st and no driver’s license.

– On Sept. 1, Anfernee Clemons was charged with breaking/entering and arson for an incident at 517 North Division. Two witnesses told BPD officers that they had observed Clemons take the door off the residence and enter. A few moments later, smoke and flames started coming from the inside and they contacted the police. Clemons was transported to MCSO.

– On Sept. 2, Michael Williams, Jr. was charged with battery, 3rd domestic misdemeanor. A BPD officer responded to a domestic disturbance call at 712 Clearlake. The suspect had left the apartment. The victim was transported to Great River Medical Center.

– A report was filed on Sept. 2 about harassing communications being sent text messages. The victim was advised of the affidavit process.

– On Sept. 2, BPD responded to a call at North 2nd and Moultrie, with the caller stating he had been assaulted. The victim said he was hit by David J. Dunkin in the nose with a closed fist while stopped at the intersection. The suspect then fled the area. Dunkin was charged with battery 3rd degree.

– On Sept. 3, officers were dispatched to 1321 Kingwood in reference to domestic battery 3rd. According to the report Linella Weaver sprayed the victims with mace or pepper spray. Contact was made with Weaver at 1221 South 8th Street and she was taken into custody and charged with domestic battery 3rd and transported to the MCSO.

– BPD answered a call on Sept. 3 in the area of 18th and Stuart reporting two subjects were seen attempting to break into a car. It also appeared another car in the area had been entered. The offenders have not been identified.

– Robert C. Washington was charged with criminal mischief, 1st degree with damage less than $1,000. Security camera footage showed the suspect strike both the driver side and passenger side headlights of a vehicle with a hammer and leave the area.

– On Sept. 3, BPD took a report of a stolen 2002 white/gray Chevy Silverado belonging to Aviation Repair Technology. The truck was entered into ACIC/NCIC as stolen.

– On Sept. 3, BPD was dispatched to 409 South 20th in reference to a burglary that had already happened. Several items were removed and the home was ransacked. The owner had been out of town and was contacted. A jewelry box filled with jewelry and a handgun was missing. The owner said she had plans to return home the next day and she was asked to contact the BPD with descriptions of the jewelry and handgun. The burglary is under investigation.
