Ruby Frances “Cookie” Robinson
Ruby Frances “Cookie” Robinson of Osceola was born Sept. 10, 1966, in Memphis, Tenn., to Tyree McCullon and Lizzie Jones. “Cookie,” as she was affectionately known, was a faithful and devoted member of Bethlehem Temple Church of God in Christ in Blytheville under the leadership of Bishop R.L. Jones, where she served as a trustee of the church. She was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She spent many hours working and helping others. “Cookie” was employed by the Mississippi Count Senior Center, where she worked as a van driver and office support staff. Her beautiful smile and warm spirit will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Theodis Bowman and Otis Jones; one sister, Delois Jones; and a daughter-in-law, Deliscia “Dee Dee” Mathis.
“Cookie” passed away Monday, Aug. 5, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 57.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Robinson of the home; two sons, Antoine Mathis of Jonesboro and Alfred (Quameka) Mathis, also of Jonesboro; two daughters, Makisha Haskins of Jonesboro and Danielle Haskins of Jonesboro; one brother, Bishop R.L. Jones of Blytheville; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug, 18, from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Nehemiah Temple Church of God in Christ 121 West McHaney Drive, Blytheville, where Elder Richard McNear is the pastor. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m. Bishop R.L. Jones will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
