– Main Street Blytheville will hold its last Splash on Main. The event will be held in the Southern Bancorp parking lot from 1-3 p.m.

–10 a.m.- 12 p.m. a Blytheville Community town meeting at the Blytheville Public Library. The public is encouraged to attend.

–The Melody Theater, 301 S. Main St, Leachville, will be showing the classic suspense thriller, “Jaws”, in remastered high-definition at 7 p.m. Admission for one is $5, or for $10 bring the entire family or any size group of friends. Free admission and concessions are available upon request. This event is brought by the City of Leachville and by the contributions of generous sponsors. Tuesday, July 30:

– The City of Keiser will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. at Keiser First Baptist Church. During this meeting, discussion will be held about a Fire Department grant the city is applying for and updates will be provided on the city’s existing sewer loan and sewer rates.

– The Blytheville Health Department will hold a Back-to-School Vaccine Clinic from 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 870-763-7064. No appointments are necessary. Hot dogs and refreshments will be served.

-Arkids Pediatric Day Centers, 1201 S. Division St., Blytheville will hold a Drive-Thru Backpack Giveaway. The giveaway will be held from 5-7 p.m. Backpacks, school supplies and snacks will be available. The event is free to public.

Thursday, Aug. 1:

– The Delta Gateway Museum will hold a professional development opportunity for Arkansas teachers from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. about Econ-ville in Blytheville. To register, visit https://trainings.economicsarkansas.org/trainings/88.

– Studio 42 & Co. will present Shrek the Musical Jr. Aug. 1-4. The musical will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 1-3 and at 2 p.m. Aug. 3-4 in the Manila High School auditorium. General admission is $10.

Tuesday, Aug. 2

– Arkansas Northeastern College Talent Search will hold a ACT Prep Workshop for TRIO students . The workshop will be held at ANC Blytheville campus from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The workshop is designed for upcoming TRIO 10th, 11th and 12th graders. Expert guidance and strategies for each ACT section, practice tests and tips on time management and test-day readiness will be part of the workshop. This is free for TRIO students. – The NUCOR Star Cinema at the Ritz Civic Center in Blytheville will show the movie “Sound of Hope The Story of Possum Trot” July 26-28 and Aug. 2-4. The movie will be shown at 7 p.m. July 26-27 and Aug. 2-3 and at 2 p.m. July 28 and Aug. 4.

Saturday, Aug. 3

– City and County Youth Program will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their Back to School event at Williams Park in Blytheville from 1-5 p.m. To donate items contact Shannon “Duck” Sims at 870-623-3179. There will be free food, school supplies, gifts and more at the event.

– 1st Choice Home Care of Blytheville will host a back to school event. They will have hot dogs, a bouncy house, music and snow cones. Back to school backpacks will be given away. The event will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 510 Main Street in Blytheville.

– Mid-Southern Championship Wrestling in Osceola has teamed up with the Mississippi County Museum for a fundraiser supporting the museum. The wrestling event will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and all proceeds go directly to the museum. Contact 870-278-3523 for tickets and sponsorship questions.

– A Summer Block Party will be held at the Joiner City Park. There will be free food and drinks, inflatables, games and giveaways. The event is sponsored by Joiner Baptist Church, Browns Chapel Baptist and Cross Points Baptist.

– Real Ministries, 1122 W. Keiser Ave., Suite 21, Osceola will hold its annual Back to School Supply Giveaway. The giveaway will begin at 12 p.m.. There will be backpacks, school supplies, food and prize giveaways. Everything is free and open to kindergarten-high school aged students. The host pastors are Pastor Wade and First Lady Angela Elliott.

-Farmers Band & Trust, 400 W. Main St., Blytheville Relay for Life team will hold a Yard Sale from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

Monday, Aug. 5:

-Gosnell Pirate Marching Band will wait tables at Pizza Inn in Blytheville from 5-8 p.m. This will be a fundraiser for the band.

Thursday, Aug. 15

– Arkansas Northeastern College will hold New Student Orientation Thursday, Aug. 15. The orientation will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Governors Ballroom/Statehouse Hall. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. For more information, call 870-838-2955 or email anc_engagement@smail.anc.edu.

Friday, Aug. 16:

-Blytheville School District will hold a Back to School Bash at the Blytheville High School Chickasaw Arena. The event will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Registration will be held on site. All primary, elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult. There will be registration, immunizations, inflatables, games, food, music and fellowship.

Saturday, Aug. 17:

–Brawl in the Fall wrestling event will be held at the Leachville community gymnasium located at 211, 11th Street. The live pro wrestling action will start at 7 p.m. The doors will open at 6 p.m. OVW Wrestling stars Kal Herro and Tony Gunn, along with other favorites, will be wrestling.
