The ongoing construction between Blytheville and the Marie exit at mile marker 44 on Interstate 55 has recently entered a new phase. Refurbishing and resurfacing of the northbound lanes of the highway were completed in late June and now both north and southbound traffic are using what will be the northbound lane. The old road surface has been removed and repairs will be made to the subsurface where needed. Then the resurfacing will begin. The project is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2025.
