Nellie Louise “Lucy” Copeland

Nellie Louise “Lucy” Copeland, 81, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at her home.

Lucy was born in Blytheville to Clyde and Jessie Martin Jones. She was a devout member of Bethany Baptist Church in Gosnell. Lucy enjoyed old cars and was a member of the Cotton Classic Car Club. She could often be found working a word search, as they were her favorite puzzle.

In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her son, Danny Ray Copeland; brothers, James Jones, Lonnie Jones and Thomas Jones; and a sister, Barbara Long.

Lucy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, David Ray Copeland of the home; sisters, Jerelean Moody and husband Sherman of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Linda Plunkett and husband Larry of Blytheville; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Don Copeland and wife Gloria of Osceola.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, at Bethany Baptist Church in Gosnell with Rev. Gary Hyde officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at Bethany Baptist Church.
