Herbert Louie Wells

Herbert Louie Wells, 82, of Hope, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Born on Dec. 29, 1941, in Drasco, he was the son of the late Leonard and Lona Mae Wells.

Louie enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting—especially turkey hunting adventures. He was the best steak grill master and could fry up a mean fish dinner. Mostly he was thought to be a quiet man, but sometimes he had quite a lot to say. He enjoyed reminiscing about growing up “in the country” around Drasco, Concord and Heber Springs. He had a dry wit and warm smile. Louie was a retiree of Firestone Company, and enjoyed owning/operating Betty’s Framing, along with his wife, for over 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lona Mae Wells; his wife, Betty Ann Wells; his former wife, Donna Lacy Wells; and grandson Chad Pace.

He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Sharp (Phillip) of Vilonia and Diane Morris Buescher of Dallas, Texas; and his son, Charles “Chuck” Morris, of Hope. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Lindsey Sharp, of Sherwood. Mr. Wells is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation was from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Olmstead Funeral Home with a graveside service immediately following in Friendship North Cemetery, Drasco.
