Ann Parks

Ann Parks passed peacefully at StoneBridge Senior Living on May 23, 2024, at the age of 87 years. Ann was born Sept. 26, 1936, to the late James Monroe and Ruthie Mae Parks, in Osceola. Ann was the second born child.

Ann confessed in Christ at an early age. She attended Rosenwald School in Osceola. She then moved to Saginaw, Mich., in 1954 at the age of 18, where she attended Christ Deliverance Church. Ann chose to return to Osceola in November 2022, where she remained faithful and dedicated to spreading the good news about Christ. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Newsome; her grandmother, Elvie Nickolson; two sisters, Ruby Parks and Pearlie Jean Parks; four brothers, Rickey Parks, Willie James Parks, Norman Lee Parks and Sylvester Deanner; special friend, Ben Newsome; niece, Enda Patterson; and three nephews, Michael Jones, Tony Parks and Donald Jones.

She leaves behind the following to cherish her memories: her daughter, Veola Hasson; son/grandson, Clifford Newsome; four sisters, Katie Jones, Patsy Parks, Sally Parks and Ren’’ee Young; two brothers, Jessie Parks and C.W. Parks; six grandchildren, Sasha, Kim , Ruthie, Albert, Camila, Antoine; 13 great-grandchildren; three special great nieces, Shanteria Davis aka Butter, Kennedie Lewis and Alexis Turner; a great-nephew, Roy Michael III aka R3; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as multiple generations of family and friends including a special friend, Ettel Yober, of Saginaw, Mich.

Ann will be remembered for her generosity and praising God with her singing!

Ann’s family will receive visitors Saturday, June 8, from 1-2 p.m. at Princess Chapel M.B. Church, 402 S. Broadway, Osceola, AR 72370. A Celebration of Life for Ann will begin at 2 p.m. with pastor Robert Ousley III and minister Sally Parks officiating.
