Johny C. Morris
District Elder Johny C. Morris, 87, formerly of Blytheville, sadly passed away on May 28, 2024, in Jonesboro. He was born Dec. 5, 1936, to the late Earsel Morris and Geraldine Bates in Huffman.
After Johny retired from the United States Air Force, his calling to help people continued as both the founder and pastor of the Apostolic Temple of Jesus Christ until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earsel Morris and Geraldine Bates; his stepmother, Arizona Haley Morris; his beloved wife, Delores Morris; one son, Horace Burton; one daughter, Jacqueline Branch; two brothers, Robert Morris and Leonard Williams; and one sister, Grederick Coney.
Johny leaves to cherish his selfless memory to his children, Johnny Morris Jr of Marion, Carla Johnson of Jonesboro, Laverne Adekunle of Brentwood, Tenn., and Yolanda Neal of Gosnell; two brothers, Earsel Morris Jr. of Louisville, Ky., and Howard Morris of Sacramento, Calif.; four sisters, Lenora Bland of Indianapolis, Ind., Sharon Crumpton also of Indianapolis, Ind., Vernis Corley of Orangeburg S.C., and Barbara Marshall of Little Rock; as well as 12 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 7, at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Word of Truth Global Ministry in Blytheville with Elder Walter Harris officiating. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blytheville.
Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville will be in charge of the arrangements.
