Rachel Mae Thompson passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 20, 2024, at the age of 94 years with her loving family by her side. Rachel was born Oct. 28, 1929, to the late Mary Jane Chappman and Emmit Williams in Osceola. In 1943, she confessed a hope in Christ at the Little Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Donny Amos. In 1944, Rachel became a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend SLA Jones. She remained a member of Pleasant Grove spanning over 70 years until her passing and was honored as the church's oldest member. Rachel served in ministry as a leader of the Sunshine Band, a dedicated usher, and as a Mother in the church. She started working as a library assistant at the Osceola Public Library and culminated her career at American Greetings Corporation, where she worked for over 30 years until her retirement in 1997. Rachel was also a member of the Prince Hall Order of the Eastern Star and served her Lodge over 35 years faithfully and honorably.

Rachel was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband 50 years, N.T. Thompson II, as well as her four silbings. She was a loving and dedicated mother of 10 children, five of whom preceded her in death (Robert, James Earl, Jerry, Mickey and Gale).

She leaves behind the following to cherish her memories: one daughter, Mary Ann Cook; four sons, George (Arguster) Williams, Ricky (Vernita) Thompson, Randy (Angela) Thompson and Naith (Sandra) Thompson. She also leaves behind 31 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, a host of great-great-grandchilden, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and church family.

Rachel will be remembered for her generosity, strength, boldness and kind heart!
