GOSNELL - Gosnell Pirates senior guard Rylan Jenkins signed a national letter of intent Monday afternoon to play basketball at Williams Baptist University. Jenkins signed his NLI in the Gosnell High School library surrounded by his family, teammates and coaches.

Jenkins was a long range threat for the Pirates behind the arc this season and Pirates head coach Corbin Clark expressed that was due to the hours Jenkins put in the gym late into the night.

Clark added Jenkin’s teammates trusted Jenkins in big moments rather it was a  late game free throw or a deep three.

Jenkins, a quiet kid by nature, expressed he signed with Williams Baptist because during his visit it “felt like the right fit”.

Jenkins is a two-sport athlete at Gosnell and pitched a no-hitter earlier in the season for the Pirates baseball program.

Away from sports, Jenkins is a true student-athlete as he was one of 10 valedictorians in the GHS Class of 2024.

Jenkins thanks his family and the Gosnell School District and staff for their continued support through the years. “I would like to thank my parents, and other family members and friends that pushed me along the way,” said Jenkins. “I want to thank my coaches that I’ve had to push me throughout the years.

Jenkins continued,”I want to thank Gosnell school for all they have done for me too.” Jenkins added a special thanks to his grandpa, Robert “Bubba” Davis. “I especially want to thank my grandpa for being my first ever coach and pushing me more than anyone to be the best I can be.”
