Rene Basaldua Palacios

Rene Basaldua Palacios, 40, of Manila, passed from this life Thursday, May 9, 2024, at his home. The son of Casimiro Basaldua Romero and Carmen Palacios Herrera, he was born in Guanajuato, Mexico, and had lived in North Carolina for several years before relocating to Northeast Arkansas in 2002. He had been a Manila resident since 2006. Rene was an equipment operator for PACO Steel of Arkansas and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blytheville. Rene was a 4th degree Sir Knight of the Knights of Columbus of Blytheville and served as an Interior Guard for five years.

Survivors include his mother, Carmen Palacios Herrera of Guanajuato, Mexico; his father, Casimiro Basaldua Romero of West Jefferson, N.C. Rene also leaves nine brothers and four sisters.

The family will receive visitors beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, May 13, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blytheville followed by a rosary service at 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Father Francis Madanu will officiate.
