Juanita Short
Juanita Short, 82, of Blytheville passed away at her home on April 12, 2024. She was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Rives, Tenn., to Woodrow and Lovie Riley.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Robert Short of the home, and leaves behind four daughters, Sharon (Brett) McCulloch of Biloxi, Miss., Suzy Simmons of Union City, Tenn., Lovie (Kenny) Lee of Fulton, Ky., and Tracy (Perry) Callahan of Lexington, Tenn. She is also survived by one stepson, Don (Tina) Kottman of St. Charles, Mo.; two brothers, Clyde Riley of Hickman, Ky., and N.D. Riley of Troy, Tenn., as well as one sister, Fransis Wroten of Union City, Tenn.. Juanita was a beloved grandmother to 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Wilson Riley; mother, Lovie C. Riley; son, Edward Simmons Jr.; brothers, James Riley and Paul Riley; and grandchildren, Adam Bardin and Krystin Bardin.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, April 16, from 5-8 p.m. for friends at Wilson Funeral Home, 1020 South Division St., Blytheville. The funeral service will take place Wednesday, April 17, at 10 a.m. also at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Bullington officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3939 Ken Tenn Hwy., Union City, TN, with Bro. Bobby Barrett officiating.
