Sylvia Elias Prewitt

Sylvia Elias Prewitt, 87, of Osceola, died Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Born Dec. 24, 1936 in Luxora, she was a lifetime member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Osceola. She graduated from Osceola High School and the University of Mississippi. She was a retired school teacher of 32 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Prewitt, and her parents, Elizabeth and William Elias.

She is survived by four daughters, Susan Prewitt Fetsch (Joe) and Gina Prewitt Cole (Terry) of Osceola, Beth Prewitt Vaughn of Calhoun, Ga., and Sara Prewitt Parker (Jim) of Sardis, Miss.; one son, Richard E. Prewitt (Rhonda) of Little Rock; two brothers, Dr. William Elias (Adele) of Roanoke, Vir., and Ronald Elias of Hurley, Miss.; grandsons, Dr. David Prewitt Cole (Arianna) of Little Rock, John William Cole of Memphis, Tenn., Samuel Prewitt Fetch of Fayetteville and Christopher Joseph Fetsch of McKinney, Texas; also Betty Vaughn Briones (Josh) of Moultre, Ga., Ellen Vaughn Parker of Rome, Ga., Dana Parker Veazey (Lee) of Como, Miss., Trey Prewitt (Amber) of Alameda, Calif., and Dr. Jennifer Prewitt Freilino (Polly) of Northampton, Mass., and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church with the Rev. Randy Hollis officiating. Burial will be at Mississippi Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the family home on Friday, April 12, from 5-7 p.m.
