Bennie Ellis Gentry
Bennie Ellis Gentry, 93, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in Wynne.
Bennie was born to Hugh and Lucille Juden Gentry in Blytheville. He was the owner of Gentry’s Garage for many years. After retirement, Bennie worked for Nucor as a security guard. He was a member of Lake Street Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, going to family reunions, and loved to BBQ. Bennie also enjoyed watching sports. His favorite teams included the St. Louis Cardinals, Arkansas Razorbacks football and women’s softball.
In addition to his parents, Bennie was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Bullard Gentry, his second wife, Shirley Williford Gentry; a granddaughter, Staci; and two brothers, Denny Gentry and Donald Gentry.
Bennie is survived by two sons, Earl Gentry, and wife Nancy of Germantown, Tenn., and Hugh Gentry, and wife Charlotte of Southaven, Miss.; one stepdaughter, Paula Hyatt of Heber Springs; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Danny Pankey officiating. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
