ARMOREL— The Armorel School Board met last Tuesday night to discuss new buses for the Armorel School District.
Armorel Superintendent Tiffany Morgan told the four school board members — Scott Jowers, Eldon Carter, Jeff Hopper, and Tammy Winstead— present that the current bus lease agreement the school is under will come to an end in August and the district needed to decide on buying the two new buses they are currently leasing for $83,000 a piece, purchase three new buses for $146,000 a piece or lease three new buses for $27,000 a piece each year.
Morgan recommended the leasing of new buses at $27,0000 a year but was not opposed to the other options.
Hopper asked how long the leases were for?
Morgan replied three-years.
Hopper made the motion to lease three new buses at $27,000 a piece and the motion was passed unanimously.

Hired by the Armorel School District were Nicole Turney - elementary teacher, Taylor Tiffany - elementary teacher, Rebecca Hughes - elementary boys’ basketball, and Wes Sanders- softball coach.
