WEST MEMPHIS - The Marked Tree junior boys track and field squad finished sixth at the West Memphis Junior Invite Monday at West Memphis High School. The Junior Indians scored 38.5 points, finishing well behind first place West Helena Central (136 points) which edged second place Forrest City (134 points). Host West Memphis West finished third with 91.5 points. The team from Osceola Junior High finished in 10th place with 15 points.
While the Junior Indians had no first place finishes, they did have two seconds, with Jaiden Andrews leaping 5-8 in the high jump for second place and the 4x200 Meter relay squad finished second with a time of 1:41.82.
DeAngelo Risper had a third place finish in the 110 meter hurdles, while David Burns finished fourth in the 1600 meter run. The Marked Tree 4x100 meter relay team finished third with a time of 48.9 seconds.
Other point scorers for the Junior Indians included DJ Stacy’s eighth place finish in the 100 meter dash, the 4x800 Meter relay team also finished in eighth place. DeAngelo Brown finished sixth in the Triple jump and Isaiah Hall finished in seventh place in the discus toss.
Osceola scored nearly all of its points in the four relay races. The junior Seminoles finished fifth in both the 4x200 and 4x800 Meter relays, a sixth place finish in the 4x100 Meters and a seventh place finish in the 4x400 Meters. Osceola’s other points were scored by Jayvon Brown who was seventh in the 300 Meter hurdles posting a time of 52.97 seconds.
