There is good news this year for childcare providers and foster parents in northeast Arkansas! University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Agents – Family and Consumer Sciences will once again be hosting in-person training for The Best Care.

The 2024 training will be held on Saturday March 2, 2024, at the Craighead County Extension office, 611 East Washington, Jonesboro, AR beginning at 8 a.m. Ten hours of training will be offered. All training is verified through the Professional Development Registry (formerly Traveling Arkansas Professional Pathways TAPP) and may be counted as continuing education for childcare providers. Some sessions may also be approved for foster parents.

Topics presented at the Best Care Training on March 2nd include Wiggles and Giggles, Time Wasters, Stress Management, Eating with Ease, Loose Parts, Fun Ways to Teach Math, Diversity and Inclusion, Breast Feeding, and Family Well-Being.

All Best Care classes are offered free of charge. Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) are available for $10 for any or all Best Care Trainings. Instructors are Dr. Pamela Pruett and Katrina Sellars, Extension agents in Mississippi and Craighead County respectively.

Registration is required by February 15th. An additional five hours of training are available through Best Care Connected, a
