Another young man has lost his life in a Blytheville shooting and a second has been arrested and charged with his murder.

Devontae Johnson, 18, of Blytheville suffered a gunshot wound on Jan. 30 and later succumbed to his injuries at the Great River Medical Center.

Officers with the Blytheville Police Department responded to the 2400 block of Carolyn Street where they discovered Johnson and began rendering aide until ambulances arrived on the scene.

While on the scene, officers were advised a second male victim, Zayveon Johnson, had also been shot and was located in the 2300 block of Marguerite. He was also transported to the local hospital for treatment.

Police have arrested a juvenile offender in connection with Devontae Johnson’s death. He appeared in Blytheville District Court where his bond was set at $200,000.

Expected to be tried as an adult, the juvenile was transferred to Circuit Court where he is to appear on March 26.

Devontae Johnson is the son of Vicky Johnson of Blytheville and the late Main Webb. He has one brother, Trevon Wells and two sisters, Emma Jean Green and Chris’uan Johnson, all of Blytheville.
