Wesley Aquila Jones, Jr.

Wesley Aquila Jones, Jr., 75 of Forney, Texas, formerly of Leachville, passed from this life Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, Texas. Born in Leachville, he was the son of the late Wesley Aquila and Florence Shanks Jones and was a 1966 graduate of Leachville High School. He attended Arkansas State University and Texas A&M University receiving a master’s degree in political science. He was a proud alumnus of Tau Kappa Epsilon, a retired postal worker with the U.S. Postal Service and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Quilline (Quill) Vaughan.

Survivors include one niece, Dawn Donovan-Kinder, and her husband, Michael, of Fort Worth, Texas.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. John Hiegel, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery.
