BLYTHEVILLE - The City of Blytheville had its second murder in four days Sunday when a Blytheville man was shot and killed.
The Blytheville Police Department responded to a call in the 300 Block of Dougan Street at approximately 6 p.m. in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they found 32 year-old Joe Newmy with an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers began rendering aid to Newmy until Pafford Emergency Services arrived.
Newmy was transported to Great River Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
BPD detectives identified 41-year-old Blytheville resident Tiffany Harris as the alleged shooter. Harris later came to the police department where she was taken into custody and transported to the Mississippi County Sheriff’s office.
Harris is charged with Murder First and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.
The investigation into the murder is ongoing. More information will be released when details become available.
