Joyce Roseborough White
Joyce Roseborough White passed away Jan. 3, 2024. She was the daughter of Grace Veazey and Robert Garrott Roseborough of Senatobia, Miss. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Garrott Roseborough, Jr.; her husband, Johnny H. White; and her grandson, Joel White.
After Senatobia schools, she attended Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Vir., and graduated from the University of Mississippi where she belonged to Chi Omega sorority. In 1950, she married Johnny H. White of Blytheville, where they lived for a number of years before moving to Memphis. Mrs. White was active in Idlewild Presbyterian Church and a past member of Memphis Arts and Garden Club, Idlewild Bridge Group, The Woman’s Exchange, Memphis Book Club, P.E.O. Sisterhood and Chickasaw Country Club.
She leaves her four children, Grace Thompson (the late husband Bryce) of Princeton, N.J., Joyce “Cissy” Bobo of Memphis, Johnny H. White, Jr. (Ruth) of Lookout Mountain, Tenn., and Emily Lowrance (Charlie) of Memphis. She also leaves grandchildren, Wilson Weed (Romi), Mary Grace Weed, and Morgan Weed Whitley (Sean), Blair Bobo Geer (Dallas), Kirk Bobo, Jr. (Jennifer), Veazey Bobo Molica (Nathan), Rachel White (Jay Miller), Caroline Lowrance Moler (Jaron), Charlie Lowrance V, and Tate Lowrance. She also leaves 13 great-grandchildren.
There will be a family graveside service in Senatobia, Miss.
