The Manila senior girls basketball team improved to 12-4 overall this season by winning all three games in the Big River Steel Lion Holiday Classic held at Manila High School.

The Lady Lions defeated Forrest City 61-42, East Poinsett County 46-43 and Trumann 66-31 to give them six wins in their last seven games this season.

Manila opened play in the classic with a 61-42 win over Forrest City. Freshman guard Lucy Farmer burned the nets for 30 points in picking up a double, double. Farmer added 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals to her stat line. Madison Tune added seven points and four assists for the Lady Lions. Chloe Helms picked up seven rebounds in the game, while Madysen Deeds had five boards.

Manila met EPC in their second game of the classic and were able to claw out a 46-43 victory. Farmer once again led Manila with 25 points, five rebounds and four steals. Manila led 11-9 after one period and 20-13 at the half. The Lady Lions lead was 28-21 after three. The Lady Warriors would claw their way back in a wild fourth quarter, but Manila would hold on for the win.

Jalyn Constant poured in 13 points to lead the way for EPC (all in the fourth quarter). Xzandria Young added 12 for the Lady Warriors. Jenna LaRose added six points and five steals and Tune had five points and three assists for Manila.

In the final game of the classic, the Lady Lions overwhelmed Trumann with a 66-31 final score. Bailey Wilson led Manila with 15 points in the victory.

Manila returns to action Thursday in a Conference 3A-3 clash at Corning.
