“Defensively were just a mess. We gave up 35 points in the first half after we've been holding teams under 40 in games. I thought we were just unorganized and sloppy on defense,” Riverside head coach Tyler Timms said after the game. “We didn't match up well with their personnel. I thought if we could get the game tied up we might have a chance to win it. But we just couldn't get over the hump. It was a frustrating game,” Timms added. “Give all the credit to them (ICC), but I was very disappointed,” Timms said.

Berry led Riverside with 16 points, while Washington and Carly Jo Womack scored 12 points each.

The Lady Rebels got to the finals by beating Sloan-Hendrix 70-30 in the quarter-finals as they hit 10 three-pointers in the game. Briley Travis hit five three-pointers on her way to 17 points to lead Riverside while Washington and Carly Jo Womack added 14 and 11 points respectively. Riverside squared off with Marmaduke in the semi-finals and came away with a 70-47 win. Carly Jo Womack led three players in double digits with 16 points while Travis added 14 points and Courtney finished with 13 points.
