The home of Lynn and Shelley (Perrin) McFarlin at 61 CR 506 in Monette has been chosen as the Christmas Lighting Winner for 2023.
Monette City Beautification Committee members presented Shelley McFarlin with a framed certificate on Dec. 16 and a check for $100. A Yard of the Month sign was placed in the front yard to signify the honor.
The McFarlin home and yard was decorated with over 8,000 red and white lights, nine reindeer, snowmen, candy canes, gift boxes, and a nativity scene with Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. A special protectory display with spotlights depict a scene of falling snow.
“The whole family loves the Christmas season, and decorating just adds to the fun,” said Shelley. “We have had a lot of help getting this all up and running.”
The McFarlin’s children include Cameron Cole and fiancée Alexis Robertson, Shawna and Zack Wilson, Hunter Allen, Ryann Allen, and Lauren Allen. They are blessed with eleven grandchildren.
Beautification members taking part in the presentation include Mayor Bob Blankenship, Byron Sparkman, Doris Blankenship, Kima Stewart, Lesleye Hawkins, Steve Suber, and Nan Snider.
