ARMOREL— The Armorel Lady Tigers hosted the Lady Thunderbirds Friday night but it would be the road team winning 52-45. ARMOREL— The Armorel Lady Tigers hosted the Lady Thunderbirds Friday night but it would be the road team winning 52-45.

The Lady Tigers lead 9-7 after the first quarter. 

A scary moment came towards the end of the second quarter as Lady Tigers senior guard Anna Lloyd was injured on a loose ball with an apparent shoulder injury. Lloyd sat out the remainder of the game.

The Lady Thunderbirds led 18-17 at the half. 

A three-point basket by Lady Tiger Freshman guard Skylar Ashmore with 50-seconds remaining and two free throws from AHS  junior Alexis Gifford with 10-seconds remaining cut the Lady T-Birds lead to two to end the third quarter.

Sophomore guard Emily Lloyd connected on an and-one opportunity with 2:40 remaining but a quick basket by the Lady T-birds pushed the lead back to three.

 Lady Tiger Freshman guard Baylee Vandyke hit a mid-range jumper and then tied the game at the 2:09 mark with the back end of a free throw at 42. 

Within 40-seconds, the Lady Tigers were forced to finish the game with four as both Vandyke and Emily Lloyd picked up their fifth fouls. 

 A three by Lady Thunderbird junior guard Kaylee Witt advanced the Lady thunderbird lead to six. 

Senior center Ryleigh Culp was fouled on a three-point opportunity and after missing the first one drained the last two. 

Culp led the scoring with 15-points and Emily Lloyd chipped in 10-points. Gifford added eight points. 

The Junior Lady Thunderbirds pulled out a 41-25 victory over the Lady Tigers in the junior high matchup. 

CCJHS led 17-13 at the half. 

Khloe Spence led the Junior Lady Tigers with nine-points. Hayden Flatness chipped in six points. 

The 7th grade Lady Thunderbird defeated Armorel 19-5. 

Kennedi Warren and Chasley Pickens both had two points and Conlee Raper hit a free-throw for Armorel.
