Manila cheerleaders raise more than $2,000

The second fundraising event, held on Monday night at the Manila Lady Lions basketball game, raised more than a total of $2,000 for the Manila Lions Club Goodfellow baskets. The fund-raiser began last week at the boys basketball game and continued this week at the girls game. Cheerleaders had two minutes at half-time of the two senior high games to run through the stands collecting donations.

Members of the Lions Club expressed their appreciation to the school, the cheerleaders and the fans for their help in providing Christmas baskets. Over 100 boxes of food will be distributed by the Lions Club.

The Lions Club provided gift certificates for the most money collected by a cheerleader at each game. Winners of the gift certificates were Lilly Jackson for the Dec. 12 game and Kinsley Stabbs for the Dec. 18 game.
