Vance receives Heisman Scholarship

Mercuriah Vance, a senior at Rivercrest High School, was recently presented the 2023 School Winner for the Heisman High School Scholarship by The Heisman Trophy Trust. Thousands of high school senior scholar-athletes graduating with the class of 2024 from 4,129 different schools across the country applied for the scholarship earlier this fall. From this group, more than 4,878 have earned the honor of becoming School Winners in the Heisman high School Scholarship competition. The Heisman Memorial Trophy is annually awarded to the most outstanding college football player in the nation. The Heisman High School Scholarship extends the Heisman prestige to the nation’s most esteemed high schools seniors by recognizing and rewarding outstanding scholar-athletes who understand that the most important victories not only happen on the field, but in their schools and communities.
