Little Rock, AR- State Representative Johnny Rye from District 36 presented checks to community organizations in his district in November. Nettleton Schools, Bay School District, Trumann Schools, and East Poinsett County School all received a grant from the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance.

“We appreciate Representative Rye for supporting these local organizations and for his concern for those struggling with food insecurity,” said Alliance CEO Kathy Webb, who noted that schools play a crucial role in making sure children have access to meals both when school is in session and throughout the summer months.

Funds for the grant Rye presented are made possible through the Alliance’s annual Serving Up Solutions fundraising dinner held in June. Legislators who participate in the event nominate hunger relief organizations in their district for the awards.
