Jerred Price, a native of Leachville, returned home on Friday, Nov. 17, bringing his talent to the stage at the Historic Melody Theater. Price, as Almost Elton, and the Rocketmen Band have played from coast to coast. He now resides in Memphis but holds on to strong ties to the Leachville community where he has family and friends.

Price said he has been blessed and expressed his gratitude to Leachville, the place he will always call home.

The concert filled the Melody to almost capacity as fans received a spectacular show by the well-known entertainer. Ironically, it was 20 years ago when Price sang on stage for the first time and it was at the Melody Theater.

The concert kicked off the weekend activities celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Melody Theater.

Price talked about his love of Leachville and how devastated he was following the December 2021 tornado.

“I wanted to do something. I wanted to help,” Price said.

He was instrumental in forming the Leachville Beautification Cooperation and serves as president. It was formed in 2022 to help rebuild after the storm and to give back and help with beautification projects to make Leachville the best it can be.

He recognized the board members and the community leaders for their support. In addition to restoring some of the main street buildings damaged by the tornado, the LBC has sponsored projects including new lamp posts along main street and at the fire station. They also have several other projects underway.

Price also announced he will be taking a break from the stage to focus on his business and other projects he is working on. He is the owner of Price & Co. Roofing and Renovations in Tennessee. He has been on the stage for 10 years and will be taking a hiatus.

His fans will look forward to his return to the stage. Price promised he would be back with a big bang.

Price received a standing ovation and to the delight of the fans, gave an encore.
