HIGHLAND - The Manila senior girls traveled to Highland Saturday for a non-conference game against the Class 4A Lady Rebels. The Lady Lions would come out on top holding off a fourth quarter comeback attempt by the hosts in a 70-63 victory.
Manila would get balanced scoring with Madysen Deeds and Lucy Farmer leading the way with 12 points each. Chloe Helms added 11 points, while Jenna LaRose had 10 points. Point guard Bailey Wilson had only three points but they came on a left wing three-pointer in the fourth quarter which gave Manila a double-digit lead the Lady Rebels would be unable to overcome.
Manila improved to 3-0 on the season after season opening wins over Buffalo Island Central, 55-53, and Bay, 50-41.
Highland fell to 0-1 on the season.
