Armorel graduate Mayson Carr, an exceptional student and president of the Physical Education Majors (PEM) Club at Arkansas State University, has been awarded the esteemed Newman McGee Scholarship by SHAPE Arkansas. This scholarship, named after Professor Emeritus Newman McGee from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, and former president of the Arkansas Association for Health, Physical Education, and Dance (now SHAPE Arkansas), is the highest recognition granted by the organization.
Mayson has demonstrated outstanding leadership within the university community as the president of the PEM Club. Her exceptional organizational skills and leadership acumen have been instrumental in orchestrating various events and initiatives that have significantly enriched the university experience for her peers.
