The Ruff House in Manila was welcomed with a ribbon-cutting on Monday, Oct. 30. The event was sponsored by the Manila Chamber of Commerce.
The new business, owned by Jeff and Tiffany Costner, is located at 625 AR-18 Manila.
The building formerly housed part of the Natural State Fitness center.
Tiffany said they had thought about opening a grooming and boarding pet business for a while and when the 5,000 square foot building became available, they decided to purchase it and open The Ruff House.
It is a family business and they will be working together to serve the area. Jeff and Tiffany have two daughters, Landree and Kallie. They are all pet lovers and are excited about the business.
The building is large enough to provide 28 5x5’ boarding rooms, an inside 2,400 square foot play area, a grooming area, a large reception area and office space. In addition to the inside, there is a 2,200 square foot, fenced-in turf area outside. The grooming area is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The tub is equipped with a lift. The individual boarding rooms have raised beds and attached water and food bowls. Each room has a white board for the dog’s name and any special medication or diet requirements.
In addition to grooming, they will offer pet daycare services Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Boarding will be available seven days a week
Family, friends, members of the chamber and city officials attended the ribbon -cutting and took a tour of the new business.
The business officially opened on Nov. 1.
Jeff and Tiffany visited many dog grooming and boarding facilities before designing and remodeling their building. It is designed for the safety of the pets. Jeff said there are three doors between the play area and the lobby.
Presently, Tiffany is doing the grooming and plans are to add one additional groomer.
